You can add an ad group when you create a new advertising campaign by logging in to the Umo Rewards Ad Portal and going to Campaign > New Campaign > Save and Add Ad Group.
Note: You must have at least one ad group in a campaign to activate your campaign.
Before you begin:
- When you create an ad campaign, you must click Save & Add Ad Group to add an ad group for it to continue with your campaign setup. You can opt to click Save to save your campaign to work on the campaign settings later, but clicking Save only will not let you take the next steps to build your campaign.
- To add an ad group, you must first create an ad campaign. Once you have added the basic details for your campaign, click Save & Add Ad Group.
Create an ad group
Once you select Save & Add Ad Group when creating an ad campaign, the Add Ad Group screen appears, and you can enter the following details:
- In the Ad Group Name field, enter an ad group name.
- (Optional) In the Description field, enter a brief description of the ad group.
- From the Time Zone drop-down menu, select the appropriate time zone for your ad campaign.
- Select the Start Date calendar icon to select your campaign ad group’s start date.
- Select the End Date calendar icon to select your campaign ad group’s end date.
- (Optional) If your campaign is a free-of-charge campaign, click the Promotional Ad
- From the Pricing Model drop-down menu, select a pricing model (Example: CPM, CPC, CPV, Flat Fee).
- (Optional) In the Booked Quality field, enter the number of impressions you want to display for the selected ad group for the entire ad group duration.
- In the Budget field, enter the amount of spend you want to allocate for the ad group.
- (Optional) If you have a daily cap on the amount of daily spend for the selected ad group, select the Daily Cap checkbox and enter the amount
- (Optional) In the Frequency Cap field, enter the number of impressions you want to display to a user on a time-defined basis.
- Every minute, hour, or day
If you skip this step, ads will be displayed anytime there is a user match with your target campaign settings and as your campaign budget permits.
It is not recommended to set a low ad frequency cap as a result of usage practices of commuters, who tend to spend only a short amount of time in the app every day, so that it will not limit your potential ad reach.
- From the Priority drop-down list, select the priority of displaying the ads in the selected ad group (example: High, Medium, Low). A high priority will trigger the ad engine to display the ads in the ad group first before a medium or low priority ad group, besides the pricing factor
- From the Delivery Mode drop-down list, select the delivery mode (example: ASAP, Even).
- (Optional) From the Select Target drop-down list, select a target for your Umo Rewards campaign.
- Note: To create a new target, click New Target. The Target is required to define a set of targeting criteria for your ad group.
- Refer to Add a Target article for further information.
- From the Select Creative Type drop-down list, select a creative type (example: Banner, Video, etc.)
- Note: To create a new creative, click New Creative.
- Refer to Add a New Creative article for further information.
- It’s recommended to run a separate ad group for each creative type for better performance measurement.
- Once you have specified all of your campaign ad group, target, and creative details, click Save.
Your new ad campaign – including campaign ad group, target, and creative details – appears, in an inactive state. To activate it, slide the Status bar from Inactive to Active.
