How Riders Redeem Stars for a Transit Stored Value

Riders can redeem their Umo Rewards Stars that they earn to add a transit stored value to their Wallet by going to Wallet > Rewards > Redeem. 

To redeem Umo Rewards, a rider must first join Umo Rewards and have a minimum number of Stars for redemption.

How does a rider redeem Stars for a transit stored value?  

1. From the main screen, tap the Wallet icon. 
2. On the My Wallet screen, select Rewards.
3. On the Rewards screen, tap Redeem. 

Note: If the Redeem button is grayed-out, the rider doesn't currently have enough Stars to redeem for a transit stored value. 

4. On the Redeem Stars screen, tap Add Cash.  

The Pass Details screen provides the rider with their stars balance and the number of stars required to add a transit stored value. 

5. On the Cash Balance Details screen, confirm the transit stored value details are correct, and tap Continue. 
6. On the Choose Payment Method pop-up window, tap Rewards Stars. 
7. On the Review Purchase screen, the rider confirms that the transit stored value redemption details are correct, and taps Complete Purchase.

 Umo confirms the rider's transit stored value purchase and it appears in the Cash Balance section of their Wallet.

From here, the rider can tap Show Validation Code to either:

• • • Show their validation code to validate their trip –or–
    • Scan the code on the vehicle’s validation reader 

Once Stars are redeemed, a rider cannot return the transit stored value and cannot receive a refund for the redeemed Stars, whether they have used the redeemed transit stored value or not.
