You can create a new transit loyalty campaign by filling in the Umo Rewards Loyalty Plan template and submitting the campaign plan on the Umo Rewards Support Portal.
Creating a loyalty campaign campaign entails providing details for the following, related to your new loyalty campaign:
- Initial Requirements – Fill in the Umo Rewards Loyalty Campaign Plan template, and submit the campaign plan on the Umo Rewards Support Portal.
- Basic Information – Select target market, loyalty campaign sponsor, add campaign name – and more.

Volume, Budget & Pricing – Enter Star purchase pride, define the amount of Star reward, define campaign budget – and more.

Loyalty Reward Criteria – Enter a campaign reason, set up loyalty participation reward criteria, ad view reward criteria – and more.
Note: All fields / steps are required unless stated as "(Optional)".
To create a loyalty campaign:
Initial Requirements
- Fill in the Umo Rewards Loyalty Plan template.
- Submit the campaign plan on the Umo Rewards Support Portal.
Loyalty campaigns must be created at least five (5) days prior to the target campaign launch date so that the system will have enough time to review and process campaign settings and search for eligible consumers.
Basic Information
Select Target Market
From the Target Market drop-down list, select the geo location you want to run your campaign on.
Note: You can only choose one target market.
Select Loyalty Campaign Sponsor
From the Loyalty Campaign Sponsor drop-down list, select the name of the organization account that will pay for the loyalty campaign.
This should be the name of your organization’s account unless indicated otherwise.
Add Campaign Name
In the Name of Campaign field, enter the name of your loyalty campaign.
Note: You may indicate campaign reason, location, and date in the campaign name for easy tracking. For example, if your campaign aims to reduce traffic congestion in Miami for the duration of February 2022, then you may name your campaign Traffic Congestion Miami Feb 2022.
Campaign Start Date
In the Campaign Start Date field, enter the date that you want to start awarding Stars to consumers.
Note: Your campaign may be activated before your campaign start date so that the system could analyze and detect eligible consumers for the campaign. Stars won’t be awarded until the campaign start date.
Campaign End Date
In the Campaign End Date field, enter the date that you want to stop awarding Stars to consumers. If this field is left blank, Stars will continuously be awarded to eligible consumers until you request Umo Rewards to pause or end the campaign.
Campaign Start Time
In the Campaign Start Time field, enter the time that you want to start awarding Stars to consumers.
Campaign End Time
In the Campaign End Time field, enter the time that you want to stop awarding Stars to consumers.
Note: If this field is left blank and the Campaign End Date field value is known, the campaign end time by default will be at 11:59PM.
Volume, Budget & Pricing
Enter Star Purchase Price
In the Unit Start Purchase Price field, enter the price you will pay for each Star.
Note: You can find the Star Purchase Price information in the contract or statement of work (SOW) signed with Cubic.
Define the Amount of Star Reward
In the Star Reward per Consumer field, enter the number of Stars you want to award each eligible consumer.
Define Campaign Budget
In the Campaign Budget field, enter the amount you want to spend for the campaign.
Please note:
- Based on your input on Unit Star Purchase Price and Campaign Budget, the system will auto populate the estimated Total Stars to Reward field and Number of Consumers to Reward field.
- The actual number of consumers to reward and the number of stars to rewards may vary depending on the number of consumers eligible for the campaign reward criteria and will be updated in the campaign dashboard report.
- You will receive a limited budget alert with an option to adjust the campaign budget so that all eligible users will get awarded.
Smart Budget Recommendation
Smart budget recommendation is only available for Rewards for Rides loyalty campaign.
Once you enter the campaign settings, the system will look back to a period of the past 4 weeks’ ridership data of the transit agency to calculate an average daily ridership in the promotion context and provide a recommended budget for the campaign.
Loyalty Reward Criteria
Campaign Reason
From the Campaign Reason drop-down list, select the goal of your loyalty campaign.
The following values are available:
- Loyalty Participation Reward: select this goal if you want to run a loyalty campaign to award Stars to consumers who opt in to the loyalty program.
- Ad View Reward: select this goal if you want to award Stars to consumers who view a video ad. The number of Stars is often higher than the standard number of Stars using the default system calculation of 100% ad view stars percentage.
- Rewards for Rides: select this goal if you want to run a loyalty campaign to award Stars to consumers who take a qualified number of rides that you define.
Note: Choosing the correct goal is critical to ensure that your loyalty campaign targets the right consumers and provides accurate performance analytics metrics.
Loyalty Participation Reward
If Loyalty Participation Reward Criteria is selected as your campaign reason.
Campaign Reward Code
Enter the campaign reward code that you may use as the code to track your campaign spending and performance in your CRM. This can include letters and numbers or a combination of both.
Opt-in to Loyalty Program
The default value will be True on the field Opt-in to Loyalty Program. This is to confirm that the campaign will only award Stars to consumers who opts in to the program.
Opt-in Date From
The Opt-in Date From field will pick up the campaign start date, the date of consumers who opt-in to the loyalty program that you want to award Stars.
Opt-in Date To
The Opt-in Date To field will pick up the campaign end date, the last date of consumers who opt-in to the loyalty program that you want to award Stars. Consumers who opt-in to the loyalty program after this date will not be awarded Stars.
Ad View Reward
If Ad View Reward Criteria is selected as your campaign reason:
The system will award eligible users with Stars every time they meet the ad view reward criteria.
Campaign Reward Code
Enter the campaign reward code that you may use as the code to track your campaign spending and performance in your CRM. This can include letters and numbers or a combination of both.
Campaign Name
Select the ad campaign from the dropdown field Campaign Name. Only live campaigns are eligible and available for selection.
Campaign ID
Ad campaign ID will be auto populated corresponding to the selected campaign name.
Ad View Date From
The Ad View Date From field will pick up the campaign start date, the date of consumers who view a video ad from the selected campaign above that you want to award Stars.
Ad View Date To
The Ad View Date To field will pick up the campaign end date, the last date of consumers who view a video ad from the selected campaign above that you want to award Stars. Consumers who view video after this date will not be awarded Stars.
Reward for Rides
Campaign Reward Code
Enter the campaign reward code that you may use as the code to track your campaign spending and performance in your CRM. This can include letters and numbers or a combination of both.
Number of Rides To Be Rewarded
Enter the number of rides the rider needs to take to be awarded with Stars.
A ride count shall be a successful onboarding on the transit vehicle with fare payment validator. The ride count can only be applicable to one agency and cannot be shared with other agencies.
Daily Awardable Number of Rides
Enter the maximum number of rides per day that can be counted and eligible for the offer. 2 is set by default but is editable.
If the riders take more rides than the daily awardable number of rides on a single day, they can only be eligible for the daily awardable number of rides in qualified ride count.
Can be Re-enrolled in The Campaign
Check the box if you want to riders to be re-enrolled in the campaign after they meet the promotion criteria. This option will allow the riders to be eligible for the Star awards until the campaign ends if they keep taking more rides that meet the promotion criteria.
You will receive a campaign approval notice email once your campaign is approved and a campaign activation notice email once your campaign goes live.
